Malësor arrested in Albania to be extradited back to Montenegro
TUZ, Malësia, May 2, 2011 - Albanian police yesterday acted on an arrest warrant issued by Interpol and Montenegro to arrest Mr. John Lucaj (39) of Malësia. Lucaj was charged and sentenced to 3 years and 3 months imprisonment by the high court in Podgorica with activities associated with the infamous 2006 "Eagle's Flight" case where 18 men were sentenced to a combined 51 years imprisonment in May 2008, just days before the first general elections in Montenegro were to be held.
Organizations for Human Rights in Montenegro have criticized the charges as human rights violations, citing torture and other crimes against detainees and their families. The charges against the 18 men included convictions that they were preparing an armed rebellion in Malësia, with the aim of creating ethnic Albanian territories. None of those accusations were proven.
Official sources from the Albanian police suggest that within a few days Mr. Lucaj will be returned to Montenegro to face charges related to his escape and his alliance with the 2006 case.
In the United States, several Albanian-American associations have petitioned the Albanian government to immediately stop extradition processes of Mr. Lucaj due to the well-documented treatment of Albanian political prisoners in Montenegrin jails. It is well-known that the Montenegrin secret police brutally assaulted Albanian political prisoners in the recent past, including the arrest of innocent Albanians while viciously torturing them and their families. The Montenegrin police systematically violate local and international laws by beating and torturing political prisoners, and in doing so, they breach individual civil rights and liberties.

THis is bullshit! How the hell can Albania extradite a man they kknow very well will be killed?!?!?!?
This guy will be put to death if he is extradited!
ahahahah, what are Albanians in Montenegro doing about this? Are they also petitioning Albania to stop extradiction?
Or all they all too wrapped up crying over the death of Osama bin Laden?
I thought this nonsense was over. How many others are out there that will be srrested for being patriots?
Thank You Albania! We can cray about the Slavs and the treatment they give us. But first we must clean our own house! then deal with the Slavs in the historical fashion that we know of. Maybe some of us remember when 9/11 happened! I did I was here in NYC when it happened. In Tuz they were celebrating! maybe we need to understand that WE are on OUR OWN! and that we need to QUIT trying to be patriotic with people or certain religions that couldn't care less about us. WAKE UP EVERYONE! Stories of the old days and books that pretain to WW1 WE were the majority, but it was clear who was incharge.

So what are you saying? Are you making divisive statements that Catholic Albanians should distance themselves from Muslim Albanians?
No, what I am saying is that when the heat gets turned up on Catholic Albanians, Muslim Albanians run and hide usually behind the skirt of the oppressor.
People should know very well that the police does not represent the general population. In addition, being separatist means Albanians in Albania will almost always be clueless of what is happening in the ethnic Albanian side of Montenegro. There can be solidarity if people get over the idea of religion, when fact of the matter is in Albania is NOT a big deal and the general population is non-practicing and ignorant on it. That comment on Bin Laden's death is very messed up and sad. There are Muslims in Malesi and people should know very well WHY.
What was so sad about the comment on Bin Ladens death? mayeb you do not know or maybe you forgot? When 9/11 happened, there was celebration and guns being shot off in a festive manner in Tuz? where is the criticism of that behavior? This is all bullshit! quit pandering to the people who cry wolf. We are Albanian first and the catholic minority understand that, maybe because our grandfather's and great-grandfathers didn't kneel to turkish demands. Instead we fought and preserved our identity. So do not speak about whats messed up.
It was sad because Albania has been the only country consistently pro-US (think Bush visit to Albania), sending troops to Afghanistan and such, and you are telling me you'll put them down because of some statistics???It's very easy not to kneel to Turkish demands if you have a mountanious region protecting you. Hey I'm not judging, anyone who would've had the option would've done the same, but truth is that there were decisions to be made, and bajraktars, or people exposed to Turkish rule had to protect their families.
I think he was referring to the celebratory comments Albanian Muslims in Tuz were engaging in were sad. I agree, it is sad when/if Albanians cheered at 9/11. If that was the case, or in other words, if Albanians anywhere cheered at what those bastard Arab terrorists did on 9/11, then they are not Albanians!!
Albania is one of the strongest allies of the United States and western values. Those that side with fundamentalist Islam do not represent us as a people and will be distanced as far away as possible!
And that goes for Albanians in Tuz if that is the case. If it were not for the United States, our brethern in Kosova, Albania, and Macedonia would be littered all over Europe like the Roma.
are these the same so-called albanians that were arrested a few weeks ago with plotting to burn muslim homes (karabusko polje)? you guys need to stop this bs and get on with you're lives. the Malesia you want is not the one we want.
Facts
1) no viable economy
2) no export
3) unemployment
4) Inflation at 13% with IR at 8%
5) Unstable currency valuation. also, an illigal currency
Fact.
Stop dreaming and go back into you're barnyard (Detroit)
?? Are u a retard? Albanian muslims didnt kneel to anyone and in fact neitger did any catholic albanians. Islam is a religion it has nothig to do with Turkey. Embrassing a religion because it makes sense has nothing to do with kneelig to any Turk its just that u adopt the religion. We Albanians used to be polytheistic and than we changed our religion to christianity so should we say that we kneeled to the Romans or Byzantiens because we became catholic. Isa Boletini was a muslim and he fought Turks. Stop associatig Islam to Turkey he budol.
